- Ingrid JANSSENCorporate and documentary film maker and author
Research in cognitive psychology on visual perception stirred my curiosity about filmmaking. After some time of screenwriting and journalism I started with corporate films and went on with documentaries. I worked on very diverse subjects: from steel industry to the launch of a new fragrance, from modern painting to architectural themes, from plane construction to the use of medical plants in the middle ages….and recently in sustainable fashion and textile.
I am not attached to any special style, but very much concerned about the image, always trying to associate shape and content, developping esthetic to devote the story, conceiving films that really make sense, sustained by a discrete, but always present artistic direction.
Last, but not least – some influence from my bi-cultural german-french background might have inspired the way I work on my films. - BEST WISHES2021A old oak tree inspired this video to get a good start for 20212020

earth.CONFLUENCE - SO LYONImagining life and shopping in a new center part of Lyon, the 'presqu'île'.

- SOME FORMER REFERENCESBIRTH OF A BRIDGEBy shooting for more than one year the construction of a new bridge over the Seine near Rouen (Normandy) I discoverd more than the technical difficulties to build the highest moving bridge in the world.
Why did the city decide to construct the bridge GUSTAVE FLAUBERT just at that place and why should it look like an open door? Sometimes history can give answers...and the local newspaper helped to reconstruct every step.LA MAISON FOURNAISE - IMPRESSIONSA restaurant's balcon near the Seine river became famous by Renoir's paintings. It was a place where all kind of artists, especially painters of the impressionist mouvement spent week-ends some hundred years ago.
To recreate the impression of this kind of painting I chose film shooting (35mm with 6 or 12 pictures per second) and then treating the result by video postproduction.24HOURS ON A STEEL PRODUCTION SITE24 hours with ArcelorMittal at Fos-sur-mer, in the south of France, to observe as near as possible the process of steel production - without any comment.EIFFEL'S SPIRITSteel allows all kind of architectural fantasy but there is no evidence for the practical translation of these ideas and the worksite conditions are sometimes really hard– working at night, on high levels, and without consideration of the weather conditions.
Bridges, roofing, facades, industrial structures, locks, cruising liners - in France, in Germany, in Finland, on the Philippine Islands, in Irak : the Eiffel spirit is always in mind. - INDUSTRIAL HISTORY ....on the Rhine border in AlsaceThe story of a steel construction plant, created 50 years ago by an industrial visionary whose dream was to construct a bridge over the Channel - before the project in the early 60's was transformed into a tunnel.
